Day Lewis Update
St Day Parish Council held a public meeting last night following Day Lewis' declaration that they were intending to open in St Day.
The meeting was well attended.
Day Lewis, Dr Matt Whiteley and Dr Russell Bolton were given the opportunity to speak at the beginning of the meeting. Day Lewis said, that although they had purchased premises in St Day, they respect the public's wishes and opposition, and have therefore decided not to open. They will now have to sell their premises.
Although the pharmacy will not now be opening, the licence for a pharmacy will continue to exist and another company could apply for it. If this happens, we will need to go through the whole process again and do everything we can to oppose it. You can be assured of our continuing support in this matter.
GP TRAINING PRACTICE
We have recently been approved as a GP Training practice. This means that we will be having fully qualified Doctors coming to the surgery to complete their General Practice Training.
These Doctors will have had considerable experience in hospital medicine, as well as, in many cases, general practice. They will be able to see patients, prescribe medication and make referrals like any other Doctor working in the practice.
Dr Frances Batten will be starting on Monday 30th January and will be with us for approximately 6-12 months
SAVVY Kernow (for 13 - 19 yrs)

As part of our serivce to you, we would like to inform you that you have a named allocated GP which is recorded on your medical record. If you would like to know who your named allocated GP is, please ask Reception. This does not mean that you cannot see a GP of your choice as we do not hold individual GP lists and you are registered with the Practice in general.
Request from Devoran Village Hall Committee
The Devoran Village Hall Committee have requested that patients attending Devoran surgery DO NOT park in the Village Hall Car Park AT ANY TIME.
As a concession, patients at the surgery are allowed to use the disabled/loading bay at the front of the village hall by the surgery, if it is not required by a Village Hall user with mobility problems.
The surgery has lined parking spaces in front of the surgery and patients are able to park on the road opposite the surgery.
We appreciate that patients have parked in the Village Hall car park for a number of years, but now that the Village Hall is being hired/used more frequently, the users of the Village Hall have priority at all times as instructed by the Village Hall Committee.
The car park is owned by the Village Hall Committee.
The E Consult pilot scheme has now come to an end and it has been decided not to continue. Thank you to all patients that chose to take part in the scheme.
